Overview

Crusher hire is selected by feed material, feed size, abrasiveness, required output size, production target and whether the crusher is used as a primary, secondary or recycling machine. Jaw crushers, cone crushers and impact crushers each solve different crushing problems.

A crusher should not be selected on tonnage alone. Material hardness, contamination, shape requirements and screening requirements all affect the correct machine choice.

For the most accurate recommendation, provide the project type, material, site location, expected hours, access restrictions and required production target.

Questions before choosing a crusher

  • What is the feed material: hard rock, concrete, asphalt, rubble or mixed material?
  • What is the largest feed size?
  • What output size is required?
  • Is the material abrasive or contaminated with steel?
  • Do you need a screen to separate final products?

Fleet planning

  • Use excavators or loaders for feeding depending on site layout.
  • Pair crushers with screens where multiple products are required.
  • Plan stockpile space and loader access around the crushing circuit.

FAQs

How do I know which machine size to hire?

Start with the project type, material, access conditions and required output. If production is important, the machine should be matched to the supporting fleet rather than selected in isolation.

Can Project Plant Hire help choose the right equipment?

Yes. Send your site details, hours, location and application, and we can recommend suitable hire options and supporting machines.

Should I choose wet hire or dry hire?

Wet hire is usually better when experienced operators are required or productivity matters. Dry hire may suit clients with their own trained operators and site management.
